INVITATION
It has been 11 years since the first Warsaw Judo Open was organized. This event hosted representatives of Warsaw and North Westfalen region in Germany. The competitions took place in a small gym, on two tatamis. However, further years brought more participants from Poland and the abroad ensuring more space in bigger sport halls. For three years now we have been hosting 500 to 600 participants from 11 to 15 countries. At present Warsaw Judo Open is the biggest amateur judo tournament, taking place in a modern sports hall, "Koło", in 60 Obozowa street. Comparing statistics of WJO and the European Championships in U17 and U20 category, winners of the Warsaw tournament prove to reach medal positions in numerous championships.
High level of sports performance and perfect organization of the event has been acknowledged by the President of Polish Judo Association, Dr. Wiesaw Bach. Since year 2009 the competition is to be the selection tournament to the National Teams of U17 and U20. European standards will be ensured in the tournament's organization. All fights will be registered by video cameras, handled by classificatory referees and results will be available on-line.
Additionally to this sports experience, especially for our guests, we have prepared an extra attraction in form of a guided tour around Warsaw. As usual, we can ensure free accommodation in Warsaw judo clubs for the guests unwilling to use the hotel service. The 11th Warsaw Judo Open is awaiting all judo enthusiasts, seeking great experience and sports achievements.
Kind sports regards Organizers of the tournament:
